Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta are childhood friends. Little Akshay has a deformity – he limps while walking. The young Lara is instrumental in instilling confidence in him.

Lara, on the other hand, is fascinated by aircraft and fantasises travelling in them. As their friendship develops, Akshay starts loving her and thinks she loves him too.

One fine day, Akshay gets a call from the airforce. He has always nurtured the dream of becoming a pilot and fly Lara across the globe.

Akshay reports to the academy for an 18-month training course and decides to propose to Lara after he becomes a pilot. However, on his return, Akshay is shocked to hear that another man, Aman Verma, has entered Lara’s life and to make matters worse, Akshay has to approve the other man.

Akshay takes the difficult decision and gives the green signal for their marriage. But a heartbroken Akshay can’t hide his emotions on the marriage day and Lara gets to know his true feelings from his bhabhi [Navni Parhar]. Lara takes a promise from Akshay to live his life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it.

Enters Priyanka, a carefree and bubbly girl. She bumps into Akshay [who is abroad on a training] in an inebriated state. Akshay gives her shelter in his apartment and in the bargain, Priyanka falls head-over-heels in love with him.

But, all her advances and attempts to woo Akshay fail as he regards her as nothing but a rich, spoilt brat. Priyanka, on the other hand, is determined to win his love.

Akshay returns home and is surprised to find Priyanka staying as a paying guest in their house. After repeated attempts, Priyanka finally has her man. The two agree to marry. It’s smooth sailing for the lovers until Lara resurfaces. The rest of the story revolves around the three main characters and their problems.
